Highly unlikely that Apple will release an actual tv. More probable are televsions from major manufacturers that have air play functionality built in.

MS Natural Keyboard is also good.
Apple mouse is beautiful and using one is not very stressful for your hand. Scroll ball in the Mighty Mouse is the best I've used and there's no comparison.
The only bad Apple mice were the hockey pucks.
Yeah the MS Natural Keyboard is good, but sorry the Mighty Mouse just plain is a mighty sucky product. The ergonomics sucks, the scroller thingy gets dirty and hardly work and ithe Mighty Mouse is by far too expensive compared with other better products on the market.

I'm not a "normal PC/Mac user" so in my daily usage I do maybe 100x more than "Joe Blow, PC/Mac owner." I install software, test it, remove it, reinstall it. I beta test software, sometimes alpha software for many companies . I'm so far removed from your average computer owner it's not even funny.
I put OSX through it's paces on a daily basis (yeah, that rhymes, I know it) and so when something crashes I don't directly attribute it to the operating system itself because I know from experience it can be most anything. When someone says "I got problem, what can I do?" the first thing that crosses my mind is a mental checklist I've created over the 30+ years I've been doing this stuff, and it's a really long checklist covering software, hardware, and the most important part of all in the equation: humans.
I don't know what problems other people have, but for me, Windows isn't an issue. I could sit here and talk about it, but since it's a Mac forum that wouldn't be a good idea in many respects. The only time I've had a virus in decades was by using AV software - figure that one out. I don't use AV software presently, I don't use Firefox as most sheeple seem to do these days, I don't have issues with IE like most sheeple seem to do these days either.
I'm not trying to turn this into a you-know-what contest, suffice to say I don't do the casual websurfing/email/watch a movie stuff that most users - and yes that's a broad generalization, but when was the last time the guy walking out of an Apple Store with his son or daughter or whatever was planning to go home and rip DVDs and compile software? Hardly the typical activity of a typical user.
I use operating systems, pushing them to their limits and back, so when something breaks, I don't immediately blow off the software and say "IT SUCKS" like some people around here - and then have the nerve to say "But since it's the only game in town I use this software even though IT SUCKS and I won't pay for it ever so I keep using it illegally even though IT SUCKS" etc.
Just my $.02 and lot of change... but I think some people around here would do themselves a favor by either:
a) paying for it then complaining to the software maker to improve it
b) paying for it so your opinions actually mean something to those of that have and use it because we own it
c) shut up before you dig yourself a hole you'll never climb out of
That's just me, of course... I'm not alone, but I'm not the kind to sit idly by and let someone trounce a good product for no good reason.

Now is really the time for Apple to go all out and move in on MS....
If I were Steve, I would be cranking out products, and really pushing hard to get stuff like a full on Mac media center, next gen iPods, iPhones, iTablets ect. ect..
Just because MS is kind of in limbo right now, not really doing anything big, Gates just stepped down...now is the time to really move in on their territory.
Maybe that's exactly what they're doing, but it seems like the big product announcements have dropped off completley....the last big announcement was the Macbook, which was a no brainer...high fi ect....
Hopefully they are all going mad scientist in the Apple labs cooking something really special up, and are just going to unload them all at once....we'll see...

People get beat up for no reason all the time. It doesn't have to do anything with bullying or the victim being a transgender. From what the victim said, the attackers used a standard "excuse" to start a fight. ("Why are you talking to my man?", if I understood correctly.)They said "Why are you talking to my man?" to a transgendered woman in a women's "restroom"? :confused:

hope they won't repeat the stupid overheat, whine, or shutdown issues in this release.
other than that, it's an impressive update and upgrade, especially compared to the painful and slow powerbook updates. Apple sure didn't dissapoint me at all!

it won't make much of a difference in terms of performance gain, but I would preffer getting a 5400 rpm and having more capacity instead. it might be very helpful for a lot of people though, it's just that i'm cost consious.
other than that, it's an impressive update and upgrade, especially compared to the painful and slow powerbook updates. Apple sure didn't dissapoint me at all!

This use of 'real' materials in digitial software is something I really detest. It made me not like the ipad and nearly put me off the iphone.

Edit: Some here speculate in an iOS + OS X merge, and I guess that *could* happen. That could be compatible with iOS 3.0 and fit that list. Perhaps it's the biggest surprise Apple is holding back for OS X Lion. .

No. You didn't. I am not judging her, and there are many here who aren't. I merely want all people to be accountable for their impact on society. For example, you are probably more healthy than I am. That's awesome. I truly hope you have the ability to pay lower insurance premiums than me. Why would I begrudge you that - I outweigh you by 50 lbs, and smoked for 25 years. But I'll tell you one thing - I run 15 miles a week now, trying to reclaim every last smidgen of lung capacity I can find. And, I've dropped 15 pounds in the last 6 weeks. And all just because I know I should. Think of how great it would be if there was financial incentive, to boot!
...my argument is not that she isn't a liability. It's that no one here has a right to decide where the line is between what lifestyle is so selfish that it is your personal concern.
Please stop assuming there is a "line." It can be a sliding scale. "Healthiness" can be measured with a variety of metrics (BMI, blood pressure, blood chemistry, etc) and there is no reason that numbers compared to numbers have to be judgmental. It doesn't have to be "healthy" vs. "unhealthy." That said, countless government agencies and private groups have decided what qualifies as "obese." The info is out there. People blow it off because there are no repercussions, no liability one way or the other.
I would argue that accepting a lifestyle that has a much higher likelihood of illness or death doesn't necessarily mean mental illness. What about adventure seekers? Is climbing Everest a sign of mental illness? The likelihood of dying is high, and honestly, some would say that you have to be crazy to do it, but people still praise the behavior, and don't label the person with a mental illness.

No, the European iPhone is the same hardware as the AT&T iPhone. It will handle voice and pokey EDGE/GPRS data on the T-Mobile USA network, but not 3G data because they use the AWS band for that.
Whether you believe that there is carrier exclusivity is irrelevant. Apple probably tests on many different carriers around the world.
The fact of the matter is Apple doesn't announce the terms of their contracts with mobile operators, so your so-called "exclusivity" could have ended at midnight yesterday.
I think gkarris point was that T-Mobile operates in other countries as well, where they have the iPhone and where they do use 3G frequencies that the regular iPhone supports.

I'm honestly surprised by a lot of you. The whole "no single android phone outsells the iPhone!" argument, is foolish and weak. It's a platform war.

Someone claim the got 43 mins frame time on the biadv with a core i860 and Linux, same CPU as the higher end iMac. That is the same as my 3Ghz 8 core Mac Pro. You think it is possible?

I was looking at that and the link just gives me a whole bunch of binary text crap. I'm not sure what to do with that.

I think they were dreaming;) my i7 920 with ubuntu does normal frames in about 6 minutes, I think, I'm at work now so not absolutely sure but in that range. The mp is running normal frames at about 2 minutes.

I spent most of the night last night trying to get gpu2 running in wine on the i7 machine but ran into a problem and gave up. But I have found that the issue may not be with my set up, it may be the wu are bad so I will work on that again tonight to see what happens if I can get a different wu. Here is some info. They have GOT to fix the battery drain issue. It started with 4.3 and was NOT fixed with 4.3.1.
