Changed all my geektool crap around.

Love the look there. Any chance you could direct me atleast on how to achieve that look, geektool and all, please? Or somewhere that I may get to grips with this?

    Thanks.

What's in it for me? Seriously, the owner of Macrumors makes $100K plus off this site (so much that he quit his job AS A DOCTOR.) Why should I give blood just to glorify the name of his website & make him richer?

    What's in it for me?

Weirdest comment ever. But, it did make me realize that perhaps arn's medical history has persuaded him to push for blood donation. Great!

In the world of print, there are two ways to receive newspapers and magazines: single copies on the newsstand, or via subscription delivery. Subscription delivery is traditionally a lot cheaper than via the newsstand. The main reason for that is because the publisher knows demographic information about you, and they use that information to attract advertisers to the publication. They don't get that value from the anonymous newsstand purchaser, so prices are accordingly higher. Each issue of the publication is subsidized by the advertisers. (It costs a fortune to put together a world-class publication, paying writers and editors and designers and running the company.)

These publishers want to continue to encourage people to subscribe to their electronic version by offering a lower price... they can only afford to do this by continuing to collect demographic user information that they can use to attract advertisers who will subsidize the cost of the publication. They will probably offer single issues online (or maybe even subscriptions online) at higher prices than the normal subscription to people who don't share their information. Your information is worth money, they know that and their advertisers know that, and you should know that too. If you withhold your information, you are holding back money, and thus asking for something for less. (Will you get it? How nicely are you asking?)

All this talk about selling email addresses to third parties is speculation and red herrings. This is about subsidizing subscriptions and paying for content. It's the business of the subscription publishing industry, and Apple wants to change it. Change isn't inherently good or bad, but in this case change would mean either reduced content/quality or higher prices.

    :d

I have a macbook pro which only has 2 USB ports. I use a USB bar that allows me to ad an additional 4 ports but they don't have a very strong connection. I can't use external drives or charge my iPhone.

Are they are good USB bars that work well with a mac?

I wonder how many team members don't even know about the passkey/bonus system? Could we up output by educating them about that, as well as client configuration?

I should thank Steve Jobs...Amount to be spent as a result of this keynote - 0

    AppleTV - pointless.
iPhone - beautiful. I'm NEVER spending that much on a phone. EVER.
New Airport Extreme - cost twice what it should.

Yeah, I dont have component or an HD TV at the moment, I have a better box for wireless than any airportex, and I'd rather have a cheap phone that wont be janked than such a flash phone with only 8gb ipod ability.

I want my widescreen 80gb iPod please.

This is why you are wrong:

Whether or not you can find one or two irrelevant differences (like private 'investing' vs. public 'taxing') between SS and a traditional Ponzi scheme is meaningless. It's not really an arguable point... like all Ponzi schemes, Social Security does not make money, it simply takes money from younger taxpayers to pay benefits to older (now retired) taxpayers. In order for this (and all) Ponzi scheme to stay afloat, there must be more and more payers or more income from each individual payer to ensure the pyramid stays intact. Unfortunately, due to reality, there are fewer young workers relative to the number of retirees to keep the system afloat. Unless a miracle occurs, Social Security will eventually collapse just like any Ponzi Scheme.

At any rate, we're off topic. Back to the OP.

sounds like good news to me. not really big features, but features nonetheless.

looking forward to more new features from Leopard:cool:

Features for the sake of features does not impress me. Unless there is some hidden bombshell of a feature in Leopard it's looking more and more likely I won't be upgrading. I'm still holding out hope for a bombshell at MWSF this January. Vista will be all but released. Apple's excuses for not announcing will have dried up and it will be put up or shut up time. Come on jobs put your code where your mouth is.

I will rather wait for some unbiased 3rd party tests before making any conclusions. Of course AMD praises their own product in their own tests. The Intel machine could be running ancient drivers for example.

    Llano looks promising though.

I suppose I should point out, as is inevitable, that gay men are barred from giving blood, at least in the United States.

So, while I can't participate, my best wishes to those who can. Thank you for your sacrifice!

This is also the case in the UK. A patently ridiculous stance, given that there is a constant message given on TV and radio that there is a shortage.

I've been getting "Call Failed" on about 25% of my phone call attempts since 4.3.1. It's really, really annoying.

I know several people that have upgraded and suddenly have lots of dropped calls and failed call attempts.
